1800Flowers.com Sucks
On 4/2 at approximately 7 AM, I ordered flowers for a time sensitive event
via 1800 Flowers.
On 4/3, at 3 PM, I checked the status of the order and learned that 1800
flowers did not deliver, nor did they intend to deliver the flowers for this
time sensitive event. 1800 flowers did NOT notify me either by phone or by
e mail. They charged me, but had NO intention of providing the service that
I paid for.
I missed the time target for the flower delivery, had to invest an hour of
my time and charges in long distance calls researching a florist who would
deliver to rural New York the same day.
Shame on 1800 flowers for failing to notify me and failing to offer an
incentive to encourage future business.
Shop any other florist!
Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

Hello,
Thank you for your prompt reply. During your investigation, you should have
discovered that my account reflects that I have shopped at 1800 flowers
fairly often (in the past).
Please don’t minimize the ‘inconvenience’ your sloppiness caused. Because
you failed to deliver and failed to notify me that you would not deliver, I
had to make several long distance calls to locate a local florist. In
addition to the unnecessary phone charges, I had to spend nearly an hour to
insure that flowers were sent — AND — they were one day late because of
your failure.
I’m shocked that you haven’t offered an incentive to retain my business.
Sincerely,
Sandy Savino

Comments:You failed to deliver the arrangement when promised (4/2/07) and
failed to notify me that the arrangement was not delivered. I learned that
you did not deliver the arrangement (and did not plan to deliver the
arrangement) because I called your customer service line on 4/3/07 at 3 PM.
I advised, Christina, the representative I spoke to on 4/3 to cancel my
order and credit my charge card. Please verify that this was done. I found
my own local florist who delivered a beautiful arrangement the same day.
Shame, shame, shame on you, 1 800 flowers. You blew the special occasion
and disappointed me.

I also ordered flowers to be sent on 7/13/07 to a co-worker in the hospital in Ohio recovering from by-pass surgery. When I spoke to them they informed me that they did not receive flowers from our NY office. I call 1-800 and was told that they delivered to the hospital on friday but the flowers were taken back because the patient was in ICU. (the patient was out of ICU friday afternoon) We called on Monday when the flowers still were not delivered as promised and paid for and the patient was going home Monday afternoon, they promised they would deliver the flowers to his home. We called on Tuesday and the flowers still were not received. We called 1-800 to find out what was going on and they told us that they could not deliver to Aurora. Well how silly of us to expect that we should have received a phone call about the non-delivery to the hospital and I guess we are out of our minds to have expected a call that they were not going to deliver them either! Good thing we asked our co-worker if he received our flowers other wise we would have paid for something that was never delivered. GET WITH IT 1-800 TERRIBLE CUSTMER SERVICE. NEVER NEVER AGAIN! YOU LOST A CUSTOMER IF YOU CARE!

I have to say I was very skeptical at first to send flowers online as I had a bad experience with some of the online florists to send my orders to Hong Kong and sometimes to Taipei. I also tried companies like Flowers.com but they did not have a good selection. I also don’t like some of the local florist as I also had a bad experience and felt the florist didn’t do a good job. I finally did a google and yahoo search and found somewhat of an unknown company called Asiaroses.com. The website was just okay but they had the flowers I liked. So I finally decided to take the risk and try them out. When my girlfriend received the flowers she said the flowers were very fresh and nicely designed. So I have to say this really made my day to find out I made my girlfriend’s day as well. SO I finally decided to start using Asiaroses.com for the past year and sent a number of bouquets to my girlfriend and now we are married! So she told me I ought to thank this flower site. Hahah…. SHe is kind of right and I think they deserve a lot of credit for doing a good job. I’d still say they need to improve their website design but the design of their flowers were outstanding and that is what counts and counted for me.

1800Flowers indeed sucks! Order on line from lots of different vendors. Figured they would be just as good. Well, ordered what should have been a lovely arrangement with plenty of time to spare prior to Valentines day. Even took the day early delivery option to make sure all went well with the delivery. The delivery time was as promised. What I did not count on is that more than a dozen dead flowers would be delivered on time. Ok, call customer service right? Yeah right. Calling for 4 days and still counting. They won’t even answer with a live person. Instead you just cant a message saying how they are so busy they cannot answer the phone. Unbelievable. Never again.

I’m just devastated that 1800flowers.com would take your money and not even live up to there guarantee of “available for same day delivery” I’m just at a lost for words they failed to deliver my Valentines day order on 2/14 or 2/15 mind when I placed the order it said that it was available for same day delivery. I placed the order on 2/12/2008 and received a confirmation of the order on the same day. When I called them tonight on 2/15/2008 they’re telling me that it will be delivered on Monday 2/18/2008. Monday is a holiday I’m not at work on that day and neither will she and I know dang well she is not going to accept a Happy Valentines Day gift on that day! I don’t want that sorry ass apology they gave me. I’m stuck but I will be disputing the charges! You wanna make a woman mad on Valentines try no flowers, no card or teddy bear, and see what happens! What a joke do a google search and see how many people got shafted on valentines day with no vaseline! I made the mistake of giving 1-800-Flowers a second chance, after they failed me one previous time. The previous time, the so called “roses” they sent looked like something that were dug out of the trash after the care takers got done cleaning up the headstones at a graveyard. On that order I called to complain, they were nice enough and offered to resend them, which I said ok. BIG Mistake…no better. After a few more calls, and an attempt at a third delivery I got a big 20% of my order refunded to me.
So a year passed, I was out of town on Valentines and decided, hey let me try this again. BIGGER MISTAKE. I ordered two dozen roses in a vase, with a box of chocolates. Well…the chocolats showed up, along with a stuffed animal (bear) but no roses. So I called right away, was on hold for 20 minutes on the 14th, no one ever picked up. I called again on the 15th, twice, same thing.
I finally get in touch with them this morning. And guess what, they offered me 20% of the order amount as refund. But I didn’t get what I ordered??? They say, well you weren’t suppose to get a stuffed animal (bear), but we sent that instead, so that replaces the value of the vase and some roses, so we can only authorize a 20% refund. His supervisor wouldn’t get on the phone, she told him to relay this to me.
I then called their corporate headquaters in Carle Place, Long Island. Was put on hold, for 15 minutes, then disconnected. Never actually getting to talk to someone.
So, I’m on a one man mission to get the word out. If they refuse to give me 100% refund, well I’m going to get my satisfaction and then some by letting as many people as I know about how poor the service and products are at 1800FLOWERS. Do yourself a favor, use your local florist, and support the neighborhood small business.
Thanks
Dennis

I’VE ORDERED WITH 1800FLOWERS.COM MANY TIMES IN THE PAST AND EVEN VERY RECENTLY.. I’VE ALSO ORDERED FROM THEIR SISTER COMPANIES… I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM… I UNDERSTAND EVERYONE ELSE’S COMPLAINTS, I’VE HAD BIG PROBLEMS WITH OTHER LARGE COMPANIES LIKE THIS THAT EVERY TIME YOU CALL YOU HAVE TO SPEAK WITH A DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE REP… SO I KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED AND CONTINUE TO ORDER WITH THEM…

These guys suck ass. I ordered a week ahead of time a very large and expensive arrangement for Mother’s Day. I had it sent to my mother’s work where someone else with the same first name signed for it and she never got the package.
I received the delivery confirmation email and then contacted support. After many back and forth emails, they only thing they did was offer an apology and a refund (after demanding one).
Horrible customer service.

What a terrible company,
I too tried 1800flowers for a second time and again they delivered poor quality and bad cuustomer service. Since I was travelling I had flowers delivered for Mothers Day. Delivered on the correct day, although at 7pm. By the next day they were drooping and with 3 days all the flowers were dead. When I returned from my trip I found out about the poor quality and contacted 1800flowers. I was told “sorry”, it’s past 7 days.
I will never order from them again and advise anyone else to stay away.

1-800-Flowers.com is a horrible website. Their site wouldn’t accept my valid credit card, despite my use of several different browsers. When I finally caved and talked to a “service” rep, after 15 minutes of more nonsense, my card was again denied due to too many failed attempts to use it previously. The only reason I was using them was because I had a gift card, which I think I’ll now throw away because there’s no way in hell I’m ever going to try to use this site again. You’d think a company with .com in the name would have a functional webpage…
February 15th, 2010 at 7:26 pm
First, let me start by saying that, if like my husband, you use 1-800 Flowers, you may save a few dollars, but you will pay for it… forever.
My husband isn’t what I would call cheap (well, except apparently when it comes to flowers). I have top notch vacations, beautiful jewelry, and anything a girl could want… except apparently flowers on Valentine’s day. I did however get stems. Dead stems with no bloom in site.
He ordered a rather inexpensive (read: CHEAP) gift from 1-800-FLOWERS (his fault, not theirs), but what we at the office deemed a totally inappropriate gift for a wife in photos on the website was a JEWEL compared to what arrived in the cardboard box.
The $1.00 store teddy bear was ratty, but nothing could prepare me for the “flowers”. What was supposed to be miniture roses was actually 4 dead stems with dead, curled leaves. All of which were put into florists foam that was dry and crumbling. I went from being 100% ticked at him for being incredibly cheap, to laughing hysterically.
The operator (btw, if you are working a phone that requires you to speak English then you need to actually be able to speak English) was insulting and unhelpful. I confirmed to her what it was supposed to look like, but then she said “I know what your husband TOLD you he sent you.” I replied that my husband THE DR. had no reason to lie (after all, I know what he ordered, it was pretty pathetic, but at least it was alive and had 4 blooms). What I have is dead, dead, dead. Supermarket flowers are 1000 times better than this junk.
I had both been promised that I would be getting a new bouquet on Feb. 15 that was an upgrade (hey, great Valentine’s, a day late). Well, after hours on the phone and speaking with 2 operators, 2 managers, and a guy at corporate, the operator that took my call SCREWED UP and there will be no delivery today. Now they are promised for tomorrow. I doubt I’m getting anything.
February 18th, 2010 at 10:04 pm
They are terrible. Awful. Even after I correct a spelling error they tried to send it to a wrong name and then claimed that it was my fault. The customer center crew is about as unhelpful as they come. Never ever again will I order with them.
April 13th, 2010 at 5:26 am
Is it possible for you to (or anybody else) tell me what is the best place to deliver flowers? All the pages I have seen want too much delivery costs.
April 13th, 2010 at 12:16 pm
Hi Dave,
If you’re sending to North America the best place I know of is http://www.416-florist.com/ They always have great specials and can send anywhere in the US or Canada. You seem to be from NZ so I don’t know anyone there.
December 9th, 2010 at 4:37 pm
PEOPLE!!!! STOP USING WIRE SERVICES!!!! IT’S YOUR FIRST AND BIGGEST MISTAKE!!! ALWAYS DIAL YOUR FLORIST DIRECT!!! WE ALL HAVE INTERNET AND PHONES AND IT’S MUCH SIMPLER AND MORE PROFITABLE FOR ANYONE TO DO IT THIS WAY THAN TO USE ANY FORM OF WIRE SERVICE. YOU ARE BEING CHARGED UP TO 30% MORE AND IT ALL GOES INTO THEIR POCKETS, NOT TO YOUR FLORIST WHO MUST WORK WITH A MINIMAL AMOUNT TO MAKE YOU HAPPY….I KNOW, I’VE BEEN A FLORIST FOR 20 YEARS….HOPE THIS INFO HELPS.
February 12th, 2011 at 10:40 am
I used 1800flowers regularly for over ten years, first by phone then the web, and was satisfied until this year, when TWO orders within six weeks failed to be delivered on the right day, and customer service simply blew me off. They have clearly grown large enough to feel secure that it is not worth their while keeping their quality of service high.
February 15th, 2011 at 6:04 pm
Don’t ever use 1-800flowers. Didn’t deliver flowers on valentine’s day. They didn’t contact me. I had to call them. Couldn’t get through. Finally did around 7 pm. The customer service rep was an a**. He told me I could have free shipping for delivery on 2/15 or cancel my order. I asked why the flowers couldn’t be delivered on 2/14 and he said “I don’t have time for this; tell me which option you want.” I said, “no, you tell me why they can’t be delivered on valentine’s day” and he hung up on me! I couldn’t get through to them so I sent an email. No response. I finally got through to them today, 2/15. They agreed to send the flowers for free today, but he damage is already done. I’ll never use 1800flowers again.
March 19th, 2011 at 7:45 pm
1800 flowers totally suck. I ordered for same day delivery and it was not delivered at all. They offered me two options redelivery tomorrow or refund..If I am paying for same day delivery what good would it do me tomorrow. I would never use or refer them to anyone who ask about them. Why have same day deliver option if this company obviously can not provide that service. Save your money and the headache.
December 10th, 2013 at 4:53 am
Found out a week after the funeral that I was getting a refund…for flowers they never delivered. So mad I could scream. Fark you 1800Flowers. You’re on my no shop list forever.
January 8th, 2014 at 7:40 pm
This company sucksASS and I will never buy flowers over the internet again. What they do is dispatch flowers via UPS and throw a vase in the box…nice. Call a neighborhood florist direct like a previous person suggested save the grief of talking to someone in the Philippines. Oh did I say how much theySUCK
January 8th, 2014 at 7:41 pm

February 17th, 2014 at 10:59 pm
1800flowers does suck. Used them after they were recommended by my Southwest Airlines credit card company offering extra frequent flyer miles. Ordered on 2/12 for a 2/17 delivery which never occurred. After being on hold for an hr and requesting to speak to a customer service rep in the US, we learned that either 800flowers or the vendor florist is/are liar(s). They claim they attempted delivery….which was a lie b/c the recipient was at home waiting for the delivery. They ruined my daughters bday.
March 19th, 2014 at 8:09 pm
Horrible service! I ordered two arrangements for Valentines Day, one was delivered, dumped on the doorstep in the hot Las Vegas sun and they didn’t even ring the doorbell. The other order never arrived for my girlfriend, so she thinks I dissed her now. Get for my relationship. NEVER USE 1800Flowers! BEWARE!! No replies from customer service ever, and I sent then three inquires. NO REPLY. If you do call, you will be discussing this with someone in India, for sure.
