AJM Leasing Toronto
In November my husband and I decided to lease to own a 98 Ford F-150 priced at 94,000.00 not including the 29 percent interest, not just did they lie to us and tell us that this truck had been well maintained but it didn’t come with a jack let alone a tire iron which a vehicle is suppose to have to certify it and didn’t receive a car fax or a used vehicle package.. The truck ran great for two weeks then our problems started happening we had to replace the transmission line’s, hood latch, battery, manifold, power steering box, four wheel drive on the passenger side, rotors and breaks in the front and back (after finding out that the back one’s were ceased), u-joints and the latest the ball joints on both side’s cause the whole truck collapsed.
Needless to say we had to borrow the money from AJM leasing to fix this truck that use to be a lemon and that was a cost of 1400.00 not to mention recently when they ball joints went out in our truck we talked to the financing company who instead of offering us another loan to repair that said don’t worry about making this months payment so we went and put a stop payment on both ends from their end and at my bank after taking what would have been my truck payment out of the bank which was in full 550.00 we left 289.00 in our account which would have covered our insurance had they not have proceeded to take out a additional 50.00 on top of the 550.00…Which needless to say caused our insurance to lapse and because this is not the first time they have caused this our insurance told us because it’s a cancellation they want 1500.00 for 6 months of insurance and at the end of the 6 months would require another 1500.00 to cover us right through.
Because of this we cannot even get insurance on another vehicle if we found one without paying a yearly amount and there is no way with a business, rent and kids we can afford this.. I need help!!
In turn my regular payment would be coming out of my account for the truck payment on the 20th of this month how ever with them recently screwing my insurance up I asked AJM Leasing to help me out seeing how they caused this. and their solution was to come take my truck! In my eye’s with the work and money I have put into this truck it’s almost brand new condition the truck is MINE…but yet they proceeded to repo my truck which in turn make’s my business go belly up as I am a window cleaner and I do own my own business and now I have no vehicle and even if I did cannot get insurance now unless I am willing to pay for a full year which in this day and age is very expensive.
And this is not the first complaint I have had with this company in the beginning when we first got the truck (which we love this truck) the guy they had working with them that sold me the truck did nothing but flirt with my wife and ask my wife to pick him up a girlfriend for him…nice business! I would not recommend AJM leasing to anyone today.. unless they are willing to give my truck back and help me out with the insurance issue they caused!

If you paid your bills to start with you wouldn’t need AJM and as I understand it they are a finance source not a dealership……get your facts straight

You sound full of it, a finance company would never say it’s OK to stop a payment, and how could you do that from both ends. How about taking some personal responsibility.

Remember three sides to the story, customers, AJM leasing and the Truth. Above client could not get financing anywhere do to the fact they never paid anyone back. AJM and other finance companies like them charge high interest due to the high risk of the client. I advise any one in one of these programs to make all your payments for one year and make sure there are no other issues with your credit and you will suprise how your interst rate will fall.

To whoever had a negative comment towards the person that wrote this:
I have excellent credit and it happened that ajm was the finance company the dealership I went to used. I did not go to ajm to borrow the money for the car because i was a loser or broke or unable to pay my bills.
That being said they are the biggest crooks i’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They are unprofessional and make things up as they go. I’m not even going to get into all the bs I had to deal with and just go on to my main point. My car was stolen, the insurance company paid them for the remainder of the lease which was somewhere around $3000.00. I am as I type, looking at the paper from rbc insurance (a very reputable agency) stating that the lease was paid in full. I received a notice of garnishment today at work for an amount in excess of $8000.00 from Dougall Grange c/o AJM leasing o/b Chettleham Estates ltd. I called Mr. Grange which is a paralegal ajm hired to represent them to ask why. I was screamed at swore at and called an a#&hole and a loser! By a man that I am positive makes less money then me. Pfft I dont even answer my own phones at work and he does! The reason I was yelled at was because I knew what I was talking about. Any company that would have a person like that representing them is bs in my books!!!! Not to mention the fact that I DO NOT OWE THEM ONE RED CENT!!!!!

me and my husband been with ajm leasing for 3 1/2 years and never had a problem. We had a missed a payment about 6 months after we signed the lease with them they were very undestanding and let me make a double payment on the next month. so i am happy with AJM Leasing.

I also experienced a not so good deal with AJM. I had just lost my business, gotten divorce and hit with heavy child support, so I had to declare bankruptcy. Upon being discharged I was financed by them for the amount of 12,500, for which I had to pay the dealer 3000 down, so that would then subtract 3000 from the dealer price with only 9500 to be financed. Those suckers did not minus the deposit of 3000, I ended up paying 23000 by the time I was done. I wish they rot in hell.

AJM where do i start? i got an audi a4 at about 10 grand. the car was great for 2 weeks. the al hell broke loose. i lost 2 cylinders, the diff at the back was messed up and at night time you could see the cat converter glowing red…. i took it back to the dealership and they told me they couldn’t do anything because the car was not bought off them but off jam leasing. Awesome i thought….not literally. i called them they then told me no problem bring it to our shop in northwest toronto, off allen rd……i live in whitby…… or i could get them to come get it with a tow truck and then have the pleasure of paying the towing fee, $330. i reluctantly drove it there and waited for a month before it was fixed. i phoned them to get my car back and they informed me that the car had been sold to someone else…. wow thats cool!!! i b$tched and complained and they finally told me could get another car. i needed a car so i said what do u have. they told me a saturn ls. horrible car. then the agreement was that it would replace the audi, the audi would be whipped off and i don’t need to worry about the audi anymore. $9000 frigging dollars for a horrible saturn!!!!! that didn’t even pass safety afterwards when i tested it two weeks later. not even a spare tire. and to make matters worse the guy and signed the leasing agreement with me (the sales man) wasn’t even aloud to sell cars legally in ontario, ordered by a judge from passed problems. Tell me why i still pay them money each month!
these people screwed me over hard core, my perfect credit is now not perfect… and they ruined a chance of me every wanting to get a house easily in the next 5 years. THANKS AJM!!!!

For all of the folks that say people deal with AJM and it’s their fault, you are a bunch of losers. Life happens and good people have promlems that cause them to turn to scum bags like this. My GMC Jimmy was stolen and they were paid out and today I just got papers from them saying settle this up since we have a judgement against you. I WAS NEVER SERVED IN THE FIRST PLACE! So if you have issues in life you are a second rate human that doens’t deserve your basic rights. This best pert of this is the fact that the number on the paper work that I did get in the mail to call their office is not even in service. I have contacted a friend of mine that is a lawyer to find out what my options are since this is a scam. I bet the story will go something like… yeah we served him the papers and yet I haven’t lived at that address in 18 months. I bet the mail was returned to them, and the court papers say the old adddress on them. The reason they didn’t serve me properly is because they knew I would counter sue them for the entire amount of the car since they sold me a crap car that didn’t lock and a bad ignition that they promised my lawyer friend would be fixed or they would get me out of that Jimmy and into something else with no penalty. AJM is an organization filled with crooks and will do anything to make money. I wouldn’t even be surprised that they stole the Jimmy to get the insurance money and still sue me over one payment and 24% interest over the last 2 plus years. I hope they get taken down hard and all of those jerk-off that work there that think they are so smart find out what it’s like to need a crooked company like them and have to live like we had to.

You guys are missing a point – ajm is not a dealership, and if the vehicle is lemon, blame the crook who sold you that junk, not a company who financed your bad deal…

Need a little insight please,,,,i was with ajm leasing in 2008. I take full responsibility that my credit was not that great but they financed me. I work for a living am not a welfare recipient and never have been. Anyways, i ran about 3 payments behind and they were unwilling to make arrangements for me to catch up so,,,,they repoed the vehicle, which i might add was a piece of garbage, i ran behind in payments probabley due to the fact i had to keep fixing it. I read a few of the comments and yes they are not a dealership but due to the fact that it is a business arrangement with alot of money involved it should be up to ajm and the dealer to make sure all services are being met with the customer and that they are not selling or leasing a lemon and endangering peoples lives. Anyways, the question i am trying to ask is now, four years later they are gaurnishing my wages for a vehicle i do not have and it is not ajm it is another company. So when you read the fine print of a lease agreement all the mumbo jumbo wording involved states that any monies or etc is between ajm and myself. What do you think? please help

Just for reference, AJM Leasing (a.k.a. CarCap) is now operating as Trend Financial.

We need to unite and sue them all together . The owner Ron Shalom needs to be in jail and this company needs to be shout down.

Anyone had any luck with any sort of resolution with AJM? We too got into this scam and were never served certain papers – there were many more things done illegally but because they have a paralegal dealing with it for them, who probably is involved in this scam all together, things got quite complicated.
It’d be nice to get to the bottom of this as so many people suffered from this scam and probably still are on the hook.

I was 18 years old, purchasing my first leased vehicle. I did this to establish good credit and obviously to have a car all my own that I could slowly pay off. At the time I understood the high interest rates and why. However, after 6 months of having this vehicle, I had leant it to a friend who managed to get it impounded for a week cost was $1000 to pull it out of the pound, I was making $600 payments for my car each month plus nearly $60000 for in

I was 18 years old, purchasing my first leased vehicle. I did this to establish good credit, as my credit was clean and new, plus obviously to have a car all my own that I could slowly pay off. At the time I understood the high interest rates and why. However, after 6 months of having this vehicle, I had leant it to a friend who managed to get it impounded for a week –
cost was $1000 to pull it out of the pound, I was making $600 payments for my car each month plus nearly $600 for insurance. At the time I did not see this as being worth it so I called them to pick up the vehicle and I told them I did not want the car anymore.
I left a 4000$ deposit on a $9000 crossover, plus payments made – even after returning the vehicle for them to sell THEY WANTED ME TO PAY $10,000 IN INTEREST THEY COULD HAVE MADE IF I HAD KEPT THE CAR!
They kept trying to get me in their office to sign some sort of paper after I gave the car back, however, THIS IS THE SCAM IF U SIGN YOU ARE LIABLE TO PAY THEM. Because I did not sign – they made numerous attempts to reach me personally – I refused to commit to paying them another dollar. THIS WAS IN 2010-2011 NOW 5 YEARS LATER THEY SENT MY FILE TO A COLLECTION AGENCY. After explaining all this to them they informed me there is a statue of limitations – they can not claim funds from me from 2 years after my last payment. I guess this is why they have never been able to put this on my credit bureau and they never will be able to do so without breaking the law or falsifying paperwork/signatures.
This company takes advantage of people who are trying to build and establish good credit or for those who have harder time finding financing as now a days credit scores need to be over 700 for a decent financing company to take even a second look at lending you money.
CarCap/AJM NICE TRY ATTEMPTING TO SCREW ME! KARMA. 🙂
